The ICT State Minister pays a 6-day state visit in Saudi Arabia

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak pays a state visit to Saudi Arabia.

At Saturday mourning he left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for the Saudi Arabia to attend the 2nd general assembly of "Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO)". He met with Mr. Haitham Ohyli, Viice Minister for ICT of Saudi Arabia just after landing at Riyadh in Saudi Arabia.

The conference will be held from February 5-9 at the Fairmont Hotel in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, said a press release.

During the visit, the Minister will attend the second General Session of the Digital Corporation Organization (DCO) to be held at the Fairmont Hostel in Riyadh, the head office of the Saudi Telecommunication Company (STC). Tomorrow, he will meet with the CEO of SCAI, Ayman Ainash, and the Chief Investment and Partnership Officer, Abdullah Alzawini. The discussion will be on bridging the gaps in the sustainable growth of the digital economy.

The organization was established in 2020 with the aim of accelerating digital transformation among member states by developing their own digitization, equal participation in the global digital economy, cooperation and knowledge sharing. Ministers representing the 13 DCO member states, along with high-level delegations from DCO observers, as well as representatives from guest countries and international organisations would convene for the general assembly to discuss the state of the digital economy and the challenges facing all nations in achieving equitable global digital growth and development. The assembly will be the first-ever in-person meeting of the DCO member states, marking two years of progress for the international organisation, which has been founded to help achieve social prosperity and growth by unifying efforts to advance and promote interest in the digital economy.

During this visit, the state minister Palak is scheduled to have bilateral meeting with Minister of Communication and Information Technology of Saudi Arabia Abdullah bin Amer Alswaha, Secretary General of Digital Cooperation Organization Dima Al Yahia, Global Tech Conference Leap CEO Dr Abdul Rahman Al Jadayir and National Cyber Security Authority of Saudi Arabia Engineer Majed Mohammad Almajid.

The state minister will return home on February 10.
